Consulting

Everything starts with strategy. One of the ways we do more with less is taking a considered approach.

Sometimes the primary need we fulfill is strategic – figuring out the optimal technical approach, vendor platform, or brand architecture. Often, things begin with strategy – working with a client to identify core objectives and needs so we can come to a shared understanding of what a project actually looks like and what services are needed.

Some of the areas we’ve consulted on include:

Brand architecture

One of the hardest parts of successfully engaging with your audience is presenting the structure of your organization. The pitfalls of unnecessarily mirroring internal departments or, on the other hand, painting an artificially simplistic picture are real and often difficult to navigate. With experience helping many organizations with these challenges (and the benefit of an outside perspective), we can offer guidance presenting a helpful, authentically structured brand to the world.

Technical architecture

Projects stand or fall on their foundation, and choosing the right technology is key. Furthermore, our expertise comes from the real world, where legacy technology and historical decisions often play a leading role, and it takes a thoughtful approach to determine when to update and when to maintain existing systems.

Platform and vendor selection

One of the most common challenges is too many options. We’ve helped clients select service providers, infrastructure vendors, content management platforms, and more. We develop meaningful criteria; find and qualify options; and evaluate and compare the choices. With our experience before, during, and after selection, we can also provide recommendations and advice along the way.

Content and production

While we do a limited amount of in-house production for select clients, we offer a wealth of experience with demanding editorial workflows; multimedia and video production; and live events and streaming production. We have a deep roster of connections to specialists in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
